My parenatal class info and experience
It feels like it was just yesterday that I
signed up for the prenatal classes and before you know it I’m already in class
two. I enjoyed week one and was a bit scared about week two as we were supposed
to watch a labour video. My husband and I went to the class and just did a
recap of last week. We then talked about lifestyle changes, watched the labour
movie and did a relaxation exercise. I learned a lot of information such as
what kind of food is good or bad during pregnancy and played a game as a group.
Following that we watched the video that I was dreading about all week.
Although the video wasn’t that graphic, the pain the mother was going through
during labour was obvious. To this point, I tried avoiding the thought of
labour and delivery as that was the only thing I have feared about despite the
excitement I have for the baby to be. Watching the video definitely made things
tougher than expected and now I’m scared as hell. I know they say giving birth
is the most painful thing ever but it didn’t occur to me up until now. I guess
I just have to use this time to prep myself because I don’t know how else to
get ready for that moment. Any mothers reading this feel free to share your
labour and delivery experience and how you coped with it. Continue reading
